Why does Cricut Design Space say my SVG is too complex?
Cricut limits uploaded SVGs to 5,000 paths. Files made of many tiny pieces — mosaics, halftones, auto-traced images — often exceed it. FixMySVG counts the paths exactly and, on paid plans, Deeper optimization can combine same-color shapes to bring the count down when that’s possible without changing the design.
Is my file uploaded to your server?
No. Analysis, Safe Fix and previews run in your browser. Your SVG only reaches our server if you explicitly save a project to your dashboard, and you can delete it at any time.
What does “Safe Fix” change?
Only things that can’t change how your design looks: hidden and invisible leftovers, empty elements, duplicate IDs, editor data, broken XML, a missing viewBox and similar. After repairing, FixMySVG renders both versions and compares them pixel by pixel. Anything that would change the picture is skipped and reported.
Can FixMySVG convert my text to paths?
Not automatically. Converting text needs the exact font your design uses, and guessing would change your lettering. The report tells you how to convert text in Illustrator, Inkscape or Affinity.
Why can’t it remove clipping paths or masks automatically?
Doing it correctly means cutting the underlying shapes — a geometric operation that can easily change the design. We’d rather tell you exactly what to do than damage your artwork.
Will the downloaded file still be an SVG?
Yes. The repaired file is a real vector SVG, never a rasterized image.
Does it work for Silhouette, Glowforge or LightBurn?
The general health check helps with any app, but the compatibility verdict is currently only for Cricut Design Space. Other profiles are coming soon.
Is FixMySVG made by Cricut?
No. FixMySVG is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Cricut.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed to analyze files or to use the free daily Safe Fixes. An account is needed for paid plans, saved projects and batch processing.
What happens if my file is too big?
FixMySVG checks files up to 15 MB and stops safely if a file is too complex for your browser, with an explanation instead of a frozen page.
